Animals eat plants or other animals for food
Animals use plants or even other animals for shelter and nesting
Infer what animals eat from the shapes of their teeth
Roots are associated with the intake of water and soil nutrients
Green leaves are associated with making food from sunlight

Meteorology
Use tools to measure weather conditions from day to day
Use tools to measure weather conditions across the seasons
Trends in temperature or precipitation are predictable
The sun warms the land, air, and water

Scientific Process
Draw pictures that portray features of the thing being described
Record information with pictures, numbers, or written statements
Record observations on a bar graph
Describe the relative position of objects by using two references
Make new observations when discrepancies exist
